IL FOLLETTO DELLA MADDALENA di Corrado Rosa
The leprechaun, a mythological presence living in the woods, is known in the collective imagination to be a reserved creature, sometimes mischievous, but nevertheless loyal when treated with respect. The leprechaun who lives in the Magdalena is jumping over an obstacle as he comes out of the woods, showing himself outside his usual abode, symbolically representing the mountain that takes a step towards us to introduce itself: although it may seem shy at first glance, nature knows how to be benevolent to those who behave well towards her. The work was created from old drums and recycled iron, assembled by electrode welding. The Maddalena Leprechaun was designed by Corrado Rosa but only partly realised by him, as he passed away on 6 March 2023, right around the time the work was created. His son Massimiliano, artist and curator, completed the work.

Biography
Corrado Rosa ha vissuto gran parte della sua vita a Ledro. Il suo stile unico ha visto la luce attraverso artefatti di ferro riciclato che mostrano personaggi della vita di tutti i giorni, tanto quanto creature del bosco e presenze mitologiche. L'autore ha progettato il Folletto della Maddalena realizzando solo in parte l'opera, essendo scomparso il 6 marzo 2023, nel periodo di realizzazione dell'opera. Il figlio Massimiliano, artista e curatore, ha ultimato l'opera. Massimiliano vede alle sue spalle una formazione artistica presso l'Istituto d'Arte Depero a Rovereto (TN) e presso l'Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera. Il suo approccio stilistico è rivolto principalmente al riciclo creativo, all'arte concettuale e all'arte povera.
