This variant has been designed for those who don't feel like tackling the ascent and descent from Monte Cognolo or in case of bad weather, which would make the stretch of the main route more difficult to tackle.
The stage is the same as that of main route up to the municipality of Provaglio d'Iseo. Near the Town Hall the two streets branch off. The lower variant crosses the hamlet of Provezze to arrive at the municipality of Monticelli, where it rejoins the main route at Castel Veder. The view, even if from below, with the mountains overhanging the lake and the peat bogs is worth it.
