L'UNA ACCANTO ALL'ALTRO SENZA PARLARE di Giovanni Bailoni
A woman and a dog walk beside each other on the Magdalena path. The two personalities, one linked to the concept of cyclicity, the other to that of protection, are an ideal combination to represent nature's propensity both to continually create and self-create itself and to be the guardian of every wayfarer who walks along its paths. In addition to defining a return from the city to nature, Bailoni's work goes one step further: it shows us the connection between animal and female, where both share a deep and atavistic relationship that goes beyond the mere utilitarianism associated with modern society. The work is realised with an iron support structure that supports pieces of wood covered with nailed and riveted sheet metal, where the resulting texture resembles a skin. The positioning of the subjects emphasises the concept of a path, a journey.

Biography
Giovanni Bailoni è nato nel 1951 a Riva del Garda (TN), dove tutt'ora vive. La sua passione per il legno (in particolare, per i listoni di larice) dialoga con quella per le lamiere recuperate da luoghi abbandonati, creando così sculture di grande suggestività. Il suo segno distintivo è il tocco di vernice rossa che ritrae, simbolicamente, un cuore palpitante, rassicurando l'osservatore sulla vitalità di questi materiali, figli del tempo e ancora qui con noi. Le sue opere sono esposte in vari parchi e recentemente una sua scultura è approdata a Pribram, Repubblica Ceca, in ricordo dell'esodo della popolazione della Val di Ledro durante il primo conflitto mondiale.
