STAGE 2 DIRECT WAY - Nembro, Villa di Serio, Scanzorosciate, Albano Sant’Alessandro, Brusaporto, Bagnatica

  • Start: Nembro
  • Arrival: Bagnatica
  • Total Length: 17,5 km
  • Difficulty by Foot: Medium
  • Climb up: 350 m

Stage 2 features the land of Moscato di Scanzo and its heroic vineyards. Scanzorosciate is a small thriving municipality, set in a truly picturesque valley. But there is much more in the surrounding area: Monte San Giorgio, the Valli d’Argon park, the Hermitage of Argon, the small church of San Cristoforo where until the 18th century a relic believed to belong to the Holy Cross was kept, and the woods of Torre de' Roveri.

The second VIA DIRETTA stage starts from Nembro and proceeds in the direction of Villa di Serio. After passing through Valle di Gavardo and the Church of San Giovanni dei Boschi, the route skirts the historic centre of Gavarno-Tribulina and, near the street called Via Collina Alta, merges into CAI path No. 626 that leads to Monti di Argon (in the Valli d'Argon park) and Monte San Giorgio. On Colle d'Argon, surrounded by woods, stands the church of Santa Maria in Argon, which was the hermitage of the ancient Benedictine abbey of San Paolo d'Argon, a peaceful place where you are drawn to silent contemplation. From here, you descend to reach Albano Sant'Alessandro train station, cross the railway line and, past the town of Brusaporto, walk among fields and olive groves and head for the final destination of the stage: Bagnatica.
